My take on Audiosurf: every song builds its own racetrack through space, with pipes, walls and pickups that come from the instruments. Play it with my tracks or your own.

Pick a song and it builds its own racetrack through space. Calm parts climb slowly, loud parts dive, and when the drop hits the track curls into a pipe where you drive up the walls and over the roof. Sometimes the floor disappears and the roof is the only way through.

Every pickup comes from an instrument in the song: red orbs on the kick, violet cubes on the bass, pink shards on the snare, cyan sparks on the hi-hats and gold crystals that follow the melody up and down the lanes. Long bass notes turn into rails you can ride. The walls show the music before you hear it.

The built-in songs are mine. You can also load your own track, any MP3 or WAV works and it never leaves your computer.

Steer with the arrow keys or A and D, hold to slide across the lanes, Space for Overdrive. On a phone, tap the left or right side of the screen. Normal is friendly, Hard is hard, Insane is mean.

Geistreich or Geistlos?

In my novel Der Kurator, art is either geistreich, made with human spirit, or geistlos: generated, spiritless. Where exactly the line is, nobody in the book agrees.

For my own stuff I can answer it, case by case. So every project on this site shows how much of it I credit to AI:

There is no 10/10 on this site so far. A 10 would mean I wasn't involved at all in making it. That hasn't happened yet. What a 10/10 project could be one day, and whether it would still be mine, is a question I find pretty interesting.

The number is my own judgement. You're welcome to disagree.
